DFS will be closed the following dates:
“May all the quaintants be forgot…” Here in the south, eating Black-Eyed Peas and Cabbage is a tradition on New Years day. But this dish isn't just for New Years, it's meant to bring luck everyday! Start thinking about New years so that your customers will begin the year right. Diversified Foods and Seasonings, Inc. will be embarking on a Inventory Management Project that will further our efficiencies in inventory control and process manufacturing. In December 2003, the FDA proposed a rule in the Bioterrorism and Food Preparedness Act, that requires manufactures to have a method of lot tracking raw ingredients and finished goods within a 4 hour time frame. While we have been researching software that will provide this capability for some time, we have found a software company that will interface with our current Platinum/Batchmaster system, this software is called Provisio. Provisio will interface with our Purchase Order, Production Order and Sales Order Modules. We will be using Radio Frequency Wireless Technology to perform real-time scans of all of our raw ingredients and finished goods. While DFS takes great care in recording our lots, we spend hours of tedious manual labor in doing so. We are very excited about this project and Provisio, and have started the beginning stages of installing our infrastructure. While the FDA has not passed the final ruling, DFS is eager to deploy the new technology and procedures in leading this project to success. --Cindy Dimitry, Sr. IT Director |
